Come use your creativity to transform a peice of drift-wood into a work of art! Put together something out of items found on the beach, stuffed away in your attic or any other items you feel would spice up your masterpeice! The only qualification for this competition is that your creation must contain a piece of driftwood. Prizes to be won!

Lobster Eating Contest

Each year our lobster eating contest has been a fun and exciting show to attend, not to mention delicious to partake in!  This year's Lobster Eating Contest will consist of teams of two.  Sign up and you and a friend could be the next next lobster eating champs! ONLY 10$ TO REGISTER!!

Scotia Gardens Mackeral Toss

Tuesday, July 20th

12:00 noon

Ever seen a fish fly? Local businesses are invited to round up a team and compete for their charity of choice in the Scotia Garden Mackeral Toss held this year on the Yarmouth waterfront. Teams of two will dress up in traditional Sou'Wester attire and rubber boots and toss some mackeral! The team to complete the event with the most mackeral and with the best time will be crowned the winner and receive a donation to their charity. Prizes will also be awarded for first, second and third places!

Captain Morgan's Rum Running Races

It's your chance to participate is one of the most thrilling events Seafest puts on! Taking place at Parker Eakins Wharf with teams of  6 to a dory.  You will be provided with a fishing dory, oars, and life jackets. Prizes to be won! This event is sponsored by Captain Morgan Rum Company.

Cook's Chowder Cook-Off

The Cook’s Seafood Chowder Cook-Off is a fun marketing opportunity for your restaurant, a great way to build team-spirit amongst your staff and show community support.

 

The Cook’s Seafood Chowder Cook-Off will take place on the Yarmouth waterfront.  All participating restaurants/food establishments must prepare seafood chowder that will be shared with the public and a panel of judges. All dairy products included in the chowder will be supplied by Cook's Dairy.  The winner will be declared the  Cook’s Chowder Cook-Off Winner for 2010.

YMCA Digital Scavenger Hunt
Saturday, July 24th
 
10 am - 2 pm 
 
Teams of 2- 4 participants compete to collect the most pictures of items on the scavenger hunt list with a digital camera! This fun activity is great for families and friends alike. Teams are encouraged to encorporate the Seafest 2010 theme, "Carnival By The Sea" as there is a prize for Best Costume! Come on out and see what you might capture! Please bring all filled out forms to the Seafest Display in the Visitor Information Centre. Ph. 881- 3181

This is Seafest's NEWEST EVENT!  Choose from either the "Whaler" or "Dingy, Dory and Skiff" divisions and get ready to race down the track!

Seafest Children's Parade
 
 Wednesday, July 14th
1:00 - 4:00 pm
 
Children are invivted to participate in the opening ceremonies for Seafest 2010. The Children's Parade is a walking parade starting at the Visitor Information Centre on Main Street running along Main to Frost Park, where the official opening will take place. Those participating are encouraged to encorporate the 2010 Seafest Theme, "Carnival By The Sea"! Participants are also asked to pre register by phoning 881-3181.
